daily TEA

TEA
(Topic Evidence Analysis)
Every day when we walk into the classroom there will be an image, poem, or passage.
  1. What do you notice?
  2. What does it communicate? How does it communicate?
  3. From small details infer larger implications.
  4. T for TOPIC or THESIS: Make a claim.
  5. E for EVIDENCE: Find one detail to back up your claim.
  6. A for ANALYSIS: Explore the evidence and explain how it shows your claim.
  7. Write a short paragraph in the TEA tradition.
  8. You can blog it (with a picture), you can tweet it, you can text it (140 characters max).
  9. Or you can write it on paper, even.
  10. Share with someone or with the whole class.
